Gallery Hotel, Singapore

In my last year's visit to Singapore on a work-related trip, I stayed at Gallery Hotel (pic above). The hotel is a boutique style hotel, in an upmarket area, surrounded by high end shoppers area and low-rise apartments.

However, the most embarrassing of all was when I got so excited about the swimming pool that I accidentally attempted to open one of the room door. You see, the hotel was so artistic that I couldn't make out which door led to the pool! And the timing was also pretty bad. Just as I was trying to open the room door, its occupant ( a handsome young man ) was right behind me giggling at me! Damn bloody embarrassing right!

Anyway, here are some pics of the hotel. Very nice, very artistic, very different, very plush hotel.

My Blogger Templated Got Screwed Up!

It has been ages since I last wrote in this blog - and to my surprise, the template that I've chosen is already broken. I believe that the images was linked to photobucket, because it showed "Bandwidth exceeded" at the places where images should be. I couldn't even recall how the images look like, else I could reproduce them. So, I decided to look for new templates instead. And here's my new template :) Clean, cool look. Just the perfect fit for me. Anyway, I'm determined to keep this blog of mine updated... even though I'm more into my other blogs for now. Click Here!

New Blogger Template

New blogger template for my blog! :) I googgled for "Blogger Templates" and found this template, which I felt was suitable to my needs and requirements. I also love the Web 2.0 look & feel. It was very easy to have a new template for your blogger blog - just need to upload the xml file and readjust your widgets. Be forewarned however that your pre-set widgets might be deleted when you change the template. I simple replaced it after I completed putting in my new template. So - no more "usual" look for my blog from now on. :)

Play piano to impress?

This is the first piece my mum wanted me to learn when I started learning piano. I managed to learn the first part but did not finish the whole piece. *hehe* We have since sold off the piano and I now have a full sized keyboard with me, but also not mastered it. It was bought by my ex-bf and I insisted on having it after we broke off. Hahaha... Seriously, a person who can plays the piano well can really impress the other party very easily - be it a girl or a guy. :) For me, I play like a half-bucket water person... so I can only impress myself so far... WAHAHAHAH

This is my very first blog, and I have so conveniently abandoned it when I started my new blog at http://www.homebusiness.more2go.com. I was very happy with my new blog until I came back to this blog today and discovered that the PR rank from this blog has gone from ZERO to 3! And, it was showing 6 earlier on?? I think there must be some mistake when it showed 6, but 3 is fair and fine.

So after a careful thought, I decided that I shouldn't abandon this blog which I have spent so much time to develop and write. :)

Yes yes... so stay tuned, and see what I have to say in this blog again!

New wave : Bloggerwave

I've never written any sponsored post in Mei Ling's Ramblings, but I made a decision to start doing so by submitting my blog to Bloggerwave yesterday.

I had initially submitted my other blog to Bloggerwave and it was approved within 24 hours. I have so far written one post for Bloggerwave, and all I can say is that my experience has been very pleasant.

Its funny how songs can remind you of moments in your life.

This song, by Lea Salonga & Brad Kane reminds me when I was 17. No, I was not in love with anyone!! This was the time when there were two guys who were trying to get close to me. I was then in Form 5, and SPM (exam) was round the corner!

The funny thing about the whole episode is that, the attention from these two guys actually improved my studies! I sort of, became smarter - no kidding. You see, I did not fare very well in my Form 3 (then it was SRP) exams. But in my SPM exam, I was among top 10 in the entire school and even received an Excellent Results certificate!

*HAHAHAHHA*

Malaysian Idol 2 : Daniel Lee

When Daniel Lee won the Malaysian Idol 2, I was one of those who were sending sms votes for him. I didn't really followed through the entire episode, but only watched the finale.

There were tons of comments about him winning - good & bad. I guess its hard to satisfy everyone - the most important thing, he did his best and won - whatever the reasoning is.

Here's one of his Chinese song which I liked very much, though I don't really understand the entire song. ( I grew up not knowing much of Mandarin ...)

I studied in UUM and I found this cool video clip on UUM on You Tube. When I left University Utara Malaysia in year 2000, the university was still undergoing a lot of improvements and additions. When I see the video clip, I am impressed that there is a lot of additional buildings and faculties. And.. there are a lot of memories from UUM.. among them ...

When she turns back again, the image on the mirror did not move! And the image on the mirror has a creepy look. I have no verification that the video is real. Any comments?

Beach destinations - my favourite!

I've always been ( and always be ) interested in beach destinations. Though my interntional passport is expired now & I have no intention to renew it yet - I'd still be looking out for these fantastic destinations. I'd want to keep a list of places I'd love to go so that when I have the chance to travel, I can check on the places I've earmarked. Hehehe... French Polynesia is one place that's so beautiful, I'd recommend it to anyone who is planning for a honeymoon. The below is Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort. Check out these pictures.

Having worked as a sales person, I've attended quite a few seminars & I've always been captivated by this familiar looking powerpoint slide featuring a picture perfect chalet with waters that are so inviting, I'd immediately get a ticket to fly there immediately. However, no one knows where this resort is ... until ... I found out today! Now, just look at this picture .... heavenly!!

Where is this place? What resort is this? The above resort is Le Meridian Bora Bora in French Polynesia. Beautiful isn't it? Look at the stairs at each chalet leading into the clear blue waters! Perfect for me who simply love swimming (though I'm lousy at it).

Ever since I found this Doll Avatar website , I've created tons of avatar dolls for myself. I guess that's just a little bit of 7-year-old in me that loves dolls & clothing them. I remember as a kid, I used to have paper dolls and we could change their paper clothes. Simple toys that provide hours and hours of fun. Now as a grown up, things are a bit more high tech - so we play high tech dolls like the ones above. Would you agree that the dolls look so adorable? You could copy & paste the code & have full-sized dolls like the one above, or you could resize it for forum use, or MSN use or AIM.

Hubby and I are planning to have a "Backpacking Round Malaysia" trip. I hope we can visit some cool places we've never visited in the past , and not spend an exhorbitant amount for the trip. I have a few in mind :-

Lang Tengah Island Those who have been there told me that there is unspoilt beauty there.
Perhentian Island We didn't take the opportunity to visit this place when we went to Redang 2 yrs ago.
Sabah Both hubby & I have never been to Sabah. If possible, I want to go to the beach area
Sarawak Only been to Kuching & Hilton Batang Ai. Would like to explore Kuching more.
Cameron Highlands We've never been there together. Last time I went was when I was twelve *haha*
Genting Highlands Its irony that we live 45 minutes away from Genting Highlands and almost never gone up there. :) Can I try my luck at the casino, hubby?

If hubby wants to go on an overseas vacation (near impossible... in view of our stingy character... aren't we alike?), I'd love to go to Maldives or maybe Gold Coast, Australia?

My holiday in Pulau Tioman

Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort

Last year, hubby & I went for a 7-Day local vacation - with the main highlight being Pulau Tioman. We stayed in Berjaya Tioman, which we loved our chalet room very much! It was a small house on its on, very near to the beach. Beach fronting chalets are the larger ones & we don't need a family room, yet. Anyway, we could see the beach from our room too.

Where are we going this year? I suppose hubby will be granted extra day leave for his effort on the project he's working on 16 hours X 7 days for the past 3 weeks non-stop. Hubby said we are going for a mini backpacking trip round Malaysia. We'd probably pick some places we've never been to and with great food. :)

Bought Habitrail Safari

We bought Habitrail Safari for our Roborovski hamsters today at Petsmore.com at Carrefour Kepong. It was a good deal, as we bought an extension pack plus Wood Chew & a Hamsters Toilet. *Hahaha* Hubby & I put it up and fixed the tunnels to connect to our old cage. Did some modification to fit the tunnel into the old cage (non Habitrail). We now have two cages, connected with a tunnel. They have started exploring the new cage, and even used the new toilet for wee-wee and bathing. :) The young ones are still too small to climb over & the big one (Mickey) is too fat... he struggles to actually climb over. In future, will probably buy more extensions for my little hamsters. :)

My Roborovski Hamsters

I bought two Roborovski Hamsters a few months ago, in fact, hubby bought it. Two weeks ago, the female one (Minnie) gave birth to seven little cute Hamsters. I am giving away two of the Hamsters to hubby's colleague, while we are deciding to keep the other 5. So, we are going to have a total of 7 Hamsters & would need an expansion for the current cage. Will probably get a *HUGE* cage to fit them all in. :)

Not sure if you are very much into food & nutrition, but I got this from my sister-in-law. She's a bit 'freaky' about food and told me (one day) that I must eat vegetables with different colors on a weekly basis... meaning Monday purple , Tuesday green, Wednesday yellow, Thursday orange, Friday ??? ... blah blah blah Here's some tips on Vegetable Colors

It goes with a message that says - we apologise if we are making an error... blah blah blah... So, system is not perfect isn''t it. And the best part of it all - it sent me an email when I have not updated my blog for like ages.. Anyway, I'm not offended or anything. As I said, whatever algorightm they use .... will never be as perfect as a human intervention. So - I've sent my request to unblock my blog and hopefully everything will be ok after that. 2 Feb : They have unblocked my blog after confirming that its not a spam. *haha*

Seen Cafepress? This is mine... I know there is still a lot of fine tuning to be done.. which I will do it when I finally get my print site and my print blog all done up pretty & nice. Among some of the things I would like to improve on my Cafepress site ..... 1. To include better keywords in each of the product's title - maybe to something attractive & appealing to the target market 2. To open new stores specializing in specific merchandise - eg. Attires For Mr. Furry... specialize in attires for doggies. 3. To come up with attractive descriptions for each item (part of No.1). Maybe some story behind the design. 4. To study other store's products and see what makes them a success. Never reinvent the wheel , those who have done it well... should be followed. 5. To promote it aggresively. Maybe include the link into my print site & other sites 6. And last but most important - to come up with more original ideas for the designs - afterall, that's what make it sells rite?

I've been so busy of late - with printing orders, new website, new blog, new technologies to learn...etc. And, now I am contemplating to have an online storefront. There are a zillion things to consider... some of it which I've outlined below :- 1. What marketing budget I will have for this site to generate interest & visits? 2. What platform I want to use? Have to choose the smartest & most cost-effective way... of course! 3. What's my initial investment for this project? 4. Payment gateway With all these questions in mind, I have decided to opt for a ready-platform. Either Ebay.com.my or Lelong.com.my .. but I am still wondering if any of these two will be able to generate that kind of sale for the products that I want to sell. I am still researching...

A new blog for me , which I am hosting at www.more2go.com. It will be at www.homebusiness.more2go.com Why I've opted for that subdomain.. don't know... haha... just an instinct. I spent one day to install Wordpress & get the hang of it. It is far more complex compared to blogger, but has a lot other features that blogger doesn't have. The one most significant feature that I like most about Wordpress is the Categories. You can categorise your post according to what you are blogging about. There is also 'pages' - which is something like a website page. So you can keep content as pages & post as posts... On top of that, if you are a little adventurous, you can try the different plugins which can be found over the internet free. And, there are tons of themes you can easily install & use.

I was at Taman Desa today to visit a new customer & realized that there was a new Maybank branch there. Since it was conveniently there, I transferred some funds to my supplier. As I was on my way home, a friend called me - ask me to drop by her office in Rawang regarding some print jobs. So I went over. Surprise - Rawang is only 30km away from my home & tol is only RM2. Quite reasonable. Then I rushed home as a customer requested to rush job.... at last, she said she cannot meet the dateline. WAHahahahah.... I have been testing out my new blog, which I am hosting in my own website & I will be using wordpress engine. There are more features, so I am moving to the new blog. This blog... likelihood will be a full stop - I am not sure... perhaps I will have another blog hosted in my website for my personal blog. :D

I was listening to the radio on this topic - Sarong Party Girl. To be honest, I've never heard of this term, but after listening for a while, I kinda understand the term. Party Sarong Girl = a girl who wants quick solution to her greed of wealth, status & posh lifestyle. Usually ends up marrying for their greed. (this is not an exhaustive definition) I supposed living in a big city & the alluring luxurious lifestyle that most people have (not sure whether they can afford it!) makes more girls wanting to be a Party Sarong Girl? When they see what others have, they want it as well ... or probably something even better. Eg. You see someone with a Alfa Romeo and you want a Mercedes Benz instead? Maybe some people just don't have the capacity / knowledge to earn that much money to get the lifestyle they want? (Then maybe they should be satisfied with what they have?) I think its a supply - demand thingy. Since there are guys who are willing to spend on them, so they just take advantage of it?

There is this new advertising company in town that specializes in car sticker adverts - something new that I have yet to hear of! This is how they operate :- 1. Get people to join their 'network' of promoters, these are private car owners who will stick these car stickers at their back screen. 2. Get advertisers to advertise on these stickers. So, how do they pay their network of promoters? RM10 per pcs of sticker & a four level network for everyone under your network! If this really works (not meant to belittle the company), anyone can actually earn a lot of money from just placing the adverts on their cars!! Hmm... lets see how it goes...

Hubby and I was at The Curve yesterday for a movie & dinner. In The Curve was a very interesting promotion by CIMB Bank & Mix FM - Living in a Box. There were 4 people living inside a plastic box right in the middle of The Curve. It was some kind of challenge going on there.... What amused me most was the signs... that read ... 1. Please Do Not Feed the Participants What?? The participants are not monkeys! 2. Please do not take pictures with flash (something to the like), the participants will become disoriented Seemed like a sign in the pet shop for cats & dogs... WAHAHAH And everyone was practically gawking at them - while they were watching tv, doing their own stuff ...etc

I already have a Paypal account, but as I previously mentioned, I will never be able to get the money out of it unless I have a US account. I contacted a Singapore Virtual Office company a few months ago, and the person-in-charge told me that he would be able to find out how a Malaysian could have a Paypal account that money can be withdrawn. I checked out his website recently, and found that he has introduced a new package for International Clients , Paypal-ready & Clickbank-ready. If I am not wrong, he will assist to open a Singapore bank account, registered with his virtual office address in Singapore & you can register a Singapore Paypal. So, then you can have your Paypal $ deposited into your Singapore account. At S$300 per year + other fees, I don't think I will go for it yet. I have given a business idea FREE!! *hahahah* I have a very small presence online and my products are not international-ready. Until then, the I will use my Malaysian Paypal account - & if I earn some money from any online business ventures, I will use it to buy other things online. :D With all other alternatives I've read in the internet, I think this is one of the best options yet. Others include :- 1. Accent Debit Card - heard that some ppl's Paypal got banned because of this.... 2. ETrade Account - this is a trading account, lots of fees to look into. For small traders, forget about this. Your profits might not be able to cover for all the cost. Any others which you have & would like to share?

As it is approaching the festive season (Hari Raya & Christmas), traffic jams gets worse... there seems to be more cars on the road & people are more impatient that ever. The below are my observation :- 1. Fast driving - People drive very fast , maybe 100km/h at LDP or even the small roads in Sri Damansara 2. Impatience - People are more impatient - honking & showing vulgar signs at other road users ( Do they own the road? ) 3. No signal lights - People ignore the signal lights given by other road users 4. Cutting queue - especially at LDP nearing Damansara Utama when the road narrows to 2 roads heading towards PJ 5. Jumping the red lights , rather disregard the red lights! I saw two occasions, where a car behind me went in between 2 cars at the traffic lights to go against the red lights. I wonder what is traffic lights for if people can simply move on *RED*??? 6. Tailgating. Not that I hate them, but I saw an accident involving 5 cars yesterday. If they were not too close to the cars in front, how did they collide in an emergency brake? Never go too close the car in front. No one is an expert driver. We drive fast - but we don't know how to react in emergency. Even if we drive a Ferrari or Mercs, remember that we can die in a car accident too. So, with all these festive season coming... people are more hot tempered? Hmm... And not to mention crime. Someone broke into my parent's house in Penang & tried to steal my mum's chain out of her neck! My aunt's handbag was snatched right outside her own house & got a few stiches coz the person used a knife! Crime is rampant these days, isn't it? I'm starting to hate staying in the city. People are individualistic, self-centred & unfriendly. I can't have the best of everything, but I guess I can trade $$ with peace.

Mistake that cost me money

Who doesn't make mistakes? Most importantly, admit it - right? I made a huge mistake on one of my customer's order. And to make it worse, it is a large order. So, this will be the most expensive mistake I've ever made. Even though the customer is 50% liable for the mistake, I have to bear the cost so as to maintain good relationship with the customer. Have spoken the the customer, luckily he's ok with it - so need not do any reprints. :) I am finally home to get all my things done. Spoke to a few customers today - have a lot of follow up to do. And I also have to activate my marketing campaign. I've put so many things on hold since the weekend to accomodate for the funeral of hubby's por por.

A sad day ...

On Sunday morning, I received a sad news that hubby's grandma passed away in her sleep. She was 85. Everyone was in a shock to hear the news. Hubby & I packed all our stuff & cancelled my supposedly trip to my friend's wedding & immediately rushed to his uncle's house in Bukit Jalil. We also cancelled our plans to attend our another friend's wedding on Monday. Hubby took a few days leave off for the funeral possesion. For me - I had to leave everything I was doing - all my follow ups, my orders... etc. We came back at 11 plus today - prayers were done in Taoist & Buddhist way ... so many sessions & very very tiring! Tomorrow is the funeral. We have to get up early for the prayer session... and here I am still trying to clear up emails, check order status, send artwork..

Haze getting bad to worse

The haze is getting real bad. Getting worse at 1.00PM now. Seemed like the hazy weather is really here to stay. I can even 'smell' the smoke in the air! And even with staying indoors, I can almost 'see' smoke in the house! I looked at the Department of Environment's website at and for yesterday's reading was 87 at 5.00PM. You can see it here I wonder what's the API (Air Pollutant Index) now at my place here - it feel like my neighbour is doing some major open burning. I am praying for rain... I am suffocating here!! *cough* *cough* Instead of selling printing solutions, i should probably sell "indoor air cleaner". Hmmm...

A "new" PDA & on the go

I finally inherited my hubby's PDA ... not a new one, but it is definately good enough for me. Its a Sony Clie PEG TH55. Hubby recently bought a Dopod smartphone, so the Sony Clie is now redundant. I am abandoning my old PDA. Hehe... I have some nice softwares inside already... that's quite fun ... I'm just waiting to get it into action. :) The market these days has plenty of cool PDAs & Smartphones, but I would most probably upgrade it in another couple of years. Maybe then I could get one 3-in-1 version of PC, Phone & PDA.. hahahahah that would cost a bomb

My friend's new business looks good. She said she did not expect so many bouquet of flowers - 30 plus!! Well, I guess friends are very supportive of her business. That's what friends are for :D I'm particularly intrigued by the range of scented (& imported) massage oils going for below RM50 in nice looking bottles, some scrub soaps below RM20... which I think is a very attractive feature of the outlet. Some home spa stuff to diy at home as well... hmm... But I'm no spa person, so I did not buy any. I was at Damansara Utama today and saw a similar outlet - i asked my friend to check it out. Massage centres are a popular scene these days!

Traffic jam at LDP is fantastically unbearable!

I decided to fetch my husband to work today. The traffic jam at the Kepong/Sri Damansara/Sg Buloh traffic lights is .... *fuh* there is no words to explain this. As everyone grew impatient (including yours truly), we just plonked the car in the middle of the traffic lights box, as it was just going green, amber, red... green, amber, red.... on and on without any movements!! If we don't, we get honked by the car behind! Whats the problem? It all started when some smart aleck changed the flow of the traffic, making a lane that eventually goes "nowhere". I really begin to wonder how these people do town planning? Not that I want to criticize, but at least do some research at peak hours to understand the flow of traffic. Anyone who plys the road regularly knows that creating that extra lane only encourages cars to cut queues! Instead of improving things, they make it worse - just like they always do... So, its either leave the house at 7AM or take a chance to get caught in a traffic jam that moves as slow as the snail. Sometimes, I wonder if staying away from urban cities will make me a happier person... coz I am not really interested in shoppings, night life... or anything like that. If I had a choice, I'd like to settle down near the beach... maybe do a small tourism-related business to earn a living. In KL, we earn much more... yes, but cost of living is also so high. At the end, we cannot save much as well. What say you?

My friend is opening up a new Thai Massage Centre at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara. The opening will be on this coming Sunday, details as below. Some marketing ideas I have in mind for her :- 1. Invite Editors of lifestyle magazines for a free trial & asking them for free write-ups. 2. Checking out rates of adverts in lifestyle sections of major newspapers like The Star, The Sun, NST & place them, where possible. 3. Distribute flyers around neighbourhood areas like Dsara Perdana, Palm Springs, Pelangi Damansara, Mutiara Damansara, Kota Damansara... then slowly move to Tmn Tun, Dsara Kim, Dsara Utama, Dsara Jaya...etc. 4. Plan marketing campaign - customers expect something new every other month, so some product innovations will be well received. Promotions must be cleverly 'disguised' - I realised that discounts tends to backfire... so giving something else on top of what they are purchasing makes better sense. 5. When things picks up, start a membership drive. This way, those who sign up will surely come back as they have paid for it. So, you sign up one customer not only for one session but for a year's service. 6. Newsletter... in hard copy. Cannot be too cheapskate sometimes. Since target market will be both young & old, a hard copy of newsletter gives more impact. In the newsletters, offer healthcare tips (related to massage), sign-up specials, etc. Ahhh... feel so good to pour out all these ideas. I learnt so much about marketing a health / beauty centre in my previous employment and its so exciting to see these things being done. A pity my previous workplace did not give me much flexibility to implement all these ideas due to lack of budget. Well, if I had my own centre, I would most probably do a full bloom marketing! :D

Air Asia for the 1st time

We woke up at 4.30AM to get ready for my 5.20AM taxi to LCCT. For those who don't know, the procedure to take an early morning cab is to make a booking the day before. I called Public Cab, who also assisted me to plan how early I should take the cab from my home in Sri Damansara. She projected 1 hour. When I took the cab at 5.20AM, I checked the time when I reached LCCT - 6.00AM. Wow! At 130kmh, its no wonder we could reach in 40 mins. Fantastic! It was RM95 which was a bit too steep, considering I bought two air tickets for only RM200. So total fare is RM295! We checked in at 6.00AM, I guess we must be one of the earliest. Ate at the over-packed McDonalds as the Asian Kitchen was even more than packed. People were sitting at McDonalds even after finishing their food, disregarding that there were new customers who needed a place to eat. Typical Malaysian attitude - selfish. I would say that the LCCT looks really tacky - it looked more like a pasar malam than an airport! People were sitting on the floor!! It looked more like a bus terminal than an airport terminal.. hahaha... LCCT needs a lot of improvement to gear up for Visit Malaysia 2007. Can't imagine what a tourist will think of the overly crowded LCCT, lack of place to even have food... We rushed back the same day via road from Kelantan to Kuala Lumpur. Took us approx 8 hours drive home. Glad to be back home....

I received a sad news today - my 4th Aunt passed away at the age of 81 this morning at 5.00AM. My other aunt informed me via telephone in the early morning. My parents who are here in KL with me will be travelling down to Kota Bahru with my brother's family tomorrow morning. I will be joining them there on Tuesday itself via flight. Sigh... its so sad that we did not even get a chance to see her for the last time. We also did not know that she was unwell. The last time we met her was when she was in SJMC for an operation - that was a few months back.. Rest in peace.

The ugly side of Malaysians...

A couple of months ago, there was a survey where Malaysians ranked No.1 for bad manners. I agree fully with it - even though I am a Malaysian myself. Some examples of bad manners include (not a full list) cutting queue whether in the supermarket or on the road, being impatient when boarding the LRT, spitting in public irrespective of race & age, bump into people without apologizing & the list goes on - its no wonder why Malaysians are ranked No. 1 for this. Everyday while driving, I never fail to encounter a driver spoiling my day - whether cutting queue, impatiently cutting in front of me, never putting their signal lights, showing me their middle finger when I flashed at them... The best part is that these people are all well-dressed men & ladies who look like office working people (I suppose). So, its already a norm - everyone does it, why not me? Sad but true! And worse, some people are such bully that if you flash at them, they threaten you! Why are we becoming like this? Are we so urbanized that we have forgotten our values, our friendliness, being a nice driver, respecting other drivers? Or Malaysians are really so bad manners that its already embedded in us?

Holiday at Langkawi

Fantastic trip to Langkawi - there were five of us, me, hubby, my parents & my mother in law. We stayed at Perdana Beach Resort , which is just a walk away from Langkawi Lagoon Resort. It was a serviced apartment with two large rooms. The entire trip was fun - we went to Underwater World, Telaga Tujuh, Oriental Village.. but did not go up the cable car. There was a lot of eating & travelling. We rented an old Iswara @ RM70 per day - I drove the car. The first day was terrible, as it was hard to get use to the manual gear. After a while, it was ok for me. It was a tiring trip, came back yesterday - reached Kuala Lumpur at 10.30am. The traffic was heavy, and very difficult to drive as there were so many heavy vehicles plying the highway at night. Anyway, today is a busy day - have to go register my own SOHO company and then go apply for a current account. I'm projecting all things to be up and running by next week!

I'm doing up designs of letterhead for my clients to choose - and the file is as huge as 12MB! I work a lot from home & communicate directly with my clients via email / instant messenger. Generally it is more convenient & fast to communicate via internet - customers are happy with the fast service & I am happy with the no neccesity to travel through all the traffic jam! What do you think? Would working from home be the way we will all be working in future?

No more discussion about this -lah. :) Tomorrow, I will be going back to Penang with hubby & my mother in law. And there, my parents will be joining us for a 3 day 2 night trip in Langkawi. We have planned the trip since Dec 2006! We got a free stay from the Buffet Club membership I joined. I really look forward to this trip. *hehe* Plans for tonight is a dinner with one of hubby's friend - who is also one of my customer. I have great friends around me - they really support what I do, and I am so thankful!! What will I be without friends? :)

A smilt to melt hearts - there is no doubt he will be one of the most sought after actor. He carries his character well in every movie that I have watched (with him as an actor) so far! The other serial movie that I watched he acted in was Stairway To Heaven... which he was also the main actor. That was a lonnnggg movie & I did not have the patience to watch the movie till the end.. :)

I am! I watched "My Tutor" starring my fav Korean actor - Kwon Sang Woo.... *takes my breath away* Its a comedy cum love story. Most guys won't like watching movies like these, but the girls would go ga-ga over it, I'm sure. I've got another few Korean dramas in my collection that I've yet to find time to watch... which I will, very soon! That explains my obsession with Korean dramas One thing about Korean drama, they are so touching.. and the actor & actresses are so dreamy! :)

What matters most to you? In one of Adam Khoo's article, he said that - if you need material things to make you happy, then you live a pretty sad and unfulfilled life. To him, he doesn't find happiness in buying branded clothes, jewellery or sitting first class. He feels hat happiness must come from doing your life's work and the money that come is only a by-product. For your info, Adam Khoo (at this point of writing) earns millions of dollars per year at the age of not even 30! For me, I need money to pay bills & to carry on living, but yeah... material things doesn't really make me happy. And the part where you earn your own money makes you value it - its very true. I used to spend a lot of my parent's money, on things that I never really needed. When I started working and earning my own money, I became very thrifty - buying only whatever is necessary, not spending when its not needed... When hubby & I decided to buy our current apartment, some people wondered why we buy such a 'cheap' place, when we could easily afford a better place, double the price. I don't know why, seriously - but I guess the answer lies deep inside me - that I'd prefer to be comfortable with the level of spending in view of our income. I don't know whether hubby & I are going to be wealthy one day, but I know one thing for sure - that is, with or without the wealth, hubby & I will still be happy - and that's what matters most.

Yoga Zone

In my previous workplace ( an alternative healthcare centre ), the in-house Ayurvedic Physician teaches yoga. I tried it once and I think my head almost fell off *giggle*. No, I'm just kidding. But I think I am really the inflexible type as certain yoga poses seems to make my body ache all over. Ok, I admit - I am really not the exercise-type. That explains the flabby tummy, rite? :) Was thinking of Yoga Zone today - you know they have very nice Yoga programs to suit every person & lifestyle. Some plus points

Convenient location - at Plaza Damas, which is not too far away from home
Specialized in Yoga - all they do is Yoga, I guess that speaks for how well they know their stuff
Plenty of classes - you can practically fit into any of their schedules, without needing to rush like crazy after work. That's flexibility for me.
Conducive Ambience - sometimes ambience does make all the difference, don't it?

Growing fast - with new Yoga Zone outlets coming up soon almost every corner in Klang Valley, it could just be a walk away from your home!

My Dog... Loves Candies

My dog loves candies & only one particular type - Polar Mint (brand name), which is a mint candy. Sometimes I can't find that particular brand & buy another brand - she immediately will refuse it! I read an article that dogs gets used to a particular type of food and will not get bored with it, unlike us human. In fact, when you change their diet, you have to gradually change it. An immediate change would mean fasting for a few days! My another dog, who has passed away about 3 years ago is also of the same characteristics - loves mints! If you don't give them the mints, they would actually come to you and beg for it. *Hahahaha*

Exercise to a Healthier Me

I have a chronic problem of getting the common flu, cold & cough once in every three week. An ex-colleague told me that my problem is that I am not getting enough exercise. In addition to exercising 3 times a week, for a duration of 1 hour each, I should also ....

Eat Correctly & On Time Watch my diet. Not too much oily stuff, less junk food (my previous post) and eating on time
Washing Hands Wash hands *PROPERLY* after every toilet use & before taking any food - especially in the office desk! I read that there is more germs on the office desk than the toilet... so, never consider picking up morsels of food you drop on your table & popping it into your mouth!
Keeping The Place Clean House, office, kitchen & bedroom. Air the bedroom at least once a week. Wipe my desk with disinfectant wipes. Keep the kitchen spanky clean. Yup...

Will try the above tips & see how it goes

When should you consider not making any plans / get out of the house (meaning going to the doctor to get an MC)?

Sneezing/ coughing Take plenty of rest at home, if possible, take a day leave & don't use it to go shopping. Instead, take plenty of rest at home - with proper medication from your doctor and plenty of liquid.
High Fever Fever can be a symptom of a more serious problem - such as dengue. Immediately get doctor's advice. If they suspect something amiss, the doc would usually advice you take additional medical test for diagnosis purposes.
Excessive Tiredness / Fatigue If you have been working long hours for weeks, consider taking a day off for a full rest. Again, don't go shopping with the off day. The rest is more important. Let your body rest, rejuvenate & heal properly.
PMS Never make plans to meet your other half if you are having PMS. You would usually be on a yo-yo mood, so its a better choice to stay at home, read some cool books or just watch a nice movie on TV
